A Siamese cat, gripping the bark of a tree, its wide eyes giving it a curious, somewhat startled expression. The painting reflects a straightforward, candid moment in nature, with a hint of humor in the cat’s intense gaze. It’s a quirky addition that could bring a touch of personality to your space.
Based on a sketch that I completed late 2008 with the specific intention of turning it into a painting. I never meant to wait more than half a year before I got around to painting it, however I drew the image at about the time I was in a low about painting cats.
Despite this the sketch was one of my favorites at the time. It had a sense of fun and was so very much a 'catty' thing for a cat to be doing.
Original Artwork: Acrylic on canvas, 30x40cm, August 2009

About TET
Hi, I'm South Australian Artist, Author, and Animator, David Arandle, A.K.A. The Extraordinary Tourist or 'TET' for short.
Welcome to my online Gallery!
On the surface my whimsical cat paintings bring joy and fun into your home but, on a deeper level they're all about relationships and how we relate to each other.
I don't have the space to paint large originals so being able to sell large format prints of my art is a chance for you to own a real statement piece that demands to be noticed!
